Dissolution Characteristics and Microstructure of Waste Pisha Sandstone Minerals in Alkaline Solutions

Waste Pisha sandstone (WPS) is the main damming material for check dam in Loss Plateau of northwest China. The dissolution characteristics WPS alkaline solutions were investigated as a basis studying modification materials and revealing mechanism to further study pozzolanic activity development cementitious concrete utilizing WPS. In this paper, was milled calcined at 600 °C, 700 800 respectively. After that, activated immersed 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 5.0 M NaOH leaching tests. two curing temperatures 20 °C 80 set, ion concentration Si, Al, Ca determined using chemical titration, silicon–molybdenum blue colorimetric method, graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, tests, residues characterized XRD SEM-EDS. results show that each leachate did not increase with time but showed fluctuating variations time. Mechanochemical activation thermal will promote minerals efficiency Si. However, soluble Si able generate gelling-like substances, limited by total amount available mineral. can dissolve more ions higher concentrations solution, mineral crystallinity its residue be reduced. Higher greatly short time, which better than activation, it also generation newborn after leaching.
